There’s Always Some Sort of Blues… is dedicated to London nightlife and most things artistic, bluesy, jazzy and poetic; London’s performance poetry scene; local artists; good spots for literature nerds to enjoy the city. I’m rearing towards the end of a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature at London Metropolitan University, after which my ultimate dream would be to work as a book editor: I love grammar, punctuation and spelling and gain aesthetic pleasure from the English language, and even more importantly, will never get tired of reading. I also like fashion and occasionally post about my performance costumes. I have a part-time retail job but am increasingly convinced my destiny is to work with language and literature.
I co-host with Michael Clift Until the Light Goes Out poetry and music night in Islington, 1st Monday every month. If you’re interested in coming along to watch or reading at the open mic at any of the events I’ve blogged about, feel free to get in touch!
